Protecting Older Adults: COVID-19 Vaccination Advice and Recommendations
Ensuring the safety of our community, particularly for older individuals, is crucial. Age remains the most significant risk factor for severe COVID-19 outcomes. Regular vaccinations provide the best protection against severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19.
Recommendations for COVID-19 Vaccines:
- Individuals aged 75 and over: It is advised to receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster every 6 months.
- Individuals aged 65 to 74 and adults with severe immunocompromise: A COVID-19 vaccine booster is recommended every 12 months.
COVID-19 vaccines can be given simultaneously with the annual flu vaccine. For more information on the importance of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, please consult your pharmacist.
